The position of Senior Sourcing Manager is to lead and implement the strategy within their category of responsibility. Managing sourcing of high value and complex external supplier spend, with a focus on the Marketing category, you will be responsible for driving breakthrough results for Direct Line Group through effective development and delivery of sourcing and contracting strategies.
What you'll be doing:
1. You'll lead the annual Category Planning (strategy) cycle for complex, high value and/or high-risk categories to identify demand, specification and supply chain opportunities by understanding category cost drivers, markets, innovation and risks.
2. Engagement with senior partners to influence the conversion of category plans to deliver a pipeline of savings and value that’s aligned to the business strategy.
3. Lead complex end-to-end sourcing activity including sourcing plan, tenders (RFI/RFP), complex supplier negotiations and implement contract arrangements.
4. You'll support all commercial aspects of implementation, including onboarding and exit of suppliers, change management requests and work with Commercial Managers on ongoing supplier management issues and disputes.
5. Operate in a regulated industry.
6. Coach/manage sourcing managers to set goals, manage workload and performance reviews.
What you'll need:
7. Experience of sourcing in the Marketing category, including media, creative and the wider supply chain.
8. Category Planning (strategy) expertise and can demonstrate experience leading complex sourcing activity.
9. Commercial acumen.
10. The role requires, you to work with Senior Partners to build relationships in spirit of an important business partner.
11. People management skills: leading through mentoring - the ability to support development of junior members and manage small remote teams.
