Job Title: Behaviour Mentor
Location: Southwark, London
Contract Type: Temporary, Flexible, Part-Time
Start Date: ASAP
Pay Rate: £25-30 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one mentoring to children facing behavioural challenges.
* Support and guide young people to develop positive behaviours and essential life skills.
* Work closely with schools, families, and community organisations to create a comprehensive support network.
* Monitor progress, document improvements, and offer constructive feedback to all stakeholders.
* Implement effective strategies to deter negative influences and promote positive decision-making.
Requirements:
* Minimum 1 year of experience as a mentor supporting children with behavioural problems.
* Minimum 1 year of experience in a youth work setting is highly desirable.
* Extensive experience working directly with children with complex SEN or behavioural challenges.
* Right to work in the UK.
* Must have, or be willing to undertake, an enhanced DBS check.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
* Counselling certification is preferred.
* PGCE in a core subject and/or QTS is desirable.
* Proven ability to work effectively with children from disadvantaged backgrounds and those struggling with behaviour due to external influences.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine passion for mentoring and supporting vulnerable youth.
