An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly-driven and enthusiastic individual to become a Band 6 Deputy Charge Nurse/Deputy Sister on JASRU (Jubilee Acute Stroke Rehab Unit).
The successful candidate will need to support learning amongst students and more junior staff in a ward environment, including identifying individual's development needs and encouraging optimal experience amongst staff.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an experienced registered nurse who is passionate about providing excellent patient care within a vibrant and motivated team and able to demonstrate strong leadership and managerial skills. This is a challenging fast-paced working environment, caring for a diverse patient group, which will enable you to further develop your clinical knowledge and skill set. Furthermore, the interested individual must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be organised, hardworking, and have a vision for the continuing development of the service and the skills, enthusiasm, and drive to undertake this exciting and challenging role. You will be expected to work day shift with occasional night duty, coordinating a 24 bedded unit.

Job responsibilities
* Have the lead role for the development of clinical/educational practice in the ward environment.
* Support the Band 7 in day-to-day management of the unit.
* Assist the Band 7 in the ongoing financial management of the unit.
* Assist the Band 7 in the recruitment and selection of staff.
* Be responsible for setting and maintaining high standards of patient care.
* Support the development of education and training within the unit.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Teaching Certificate
* Diploma or Degree in Nursing or Health Related Subject
Skills and Knowledge
* Minimum 2 years experience
* Ongoing evidence of professional development
* NMC registration
* IT literate
* Exposure to audit and change management
* Evidence of education to staff and students
* Trauma and Orthopedics experience
