We are seeking to recruit a Rehabilitation Engineering Technician to join our integrated clinical team. You will be conducting assessments with our NHS wheelchair users in various settings within the surrounding areas, ensuring outstanding customer experience is maintained throughout. You will showcase an empathic and resilient approach when faced with challenging situations, with the ability to work collaboratively with our customer service, logistics, and the wider clinical teams. You will design, manufacture, and assemble the seating and wheelchair to meet the individuals' needs. You will ensure best practice is maintained throughout whilst receiving professional guidance from the Clinical Lead and Rehabilitation Engineers.
Main duties of the job
* Responsible for a caseload of various clinical provisions as directed by the rehabilitation engineer or clinical lead.
* Deliver, set up, trial, or demonstrate equipment to service users/carers.
* Support registered staff during complex assessments by fitting and/or adjusting postural equipment.
* Assist rehabilitation engineers with more complex wheelchair modifications and bespoke builds.
* Prepare assessment equipment for the wider clinical team.
To be considered for this role, you must hold a valid UK manual driving license with no more than 6 valid points for insurance purposes.

Qualifications
* GCSE maths and English at grade 4 or above, or equivalent.
* NVQ level 3 in an area relevant to the post, or equivalent qualification and/or experience.
* HNC or HND or degree in engineering or equivalent.
* Member of relevant special interest group.
* Level 4 qualification or higher in a relevant engineering discipline.
Experience
* Working in the community.
* Experience working in/with wheelchair services.
* Experience working in/with rehabilitation services.
Skills and Knowledge
* Good communication skills, verbally and written.
* Strong time management and organisational skills.
* Competent with a range of hand and power tools.
* Computer literate; ability to use Microsoft packages such as Word, Outlook, Excel effectively.
* Knowledge of a range of neurological and musculoskeletal conditions.
* Knowledge of 24-hour postural management and its impact on wheelchair and seating provision.
* Knowledge of pressure ulcer avoidance and management.
* Use of electronic patient record systems.
* Basic clinical assessment skills.
* Audit and research/evaluation.
