Job Title: Head of Finance (FMCG)
Location: Preston, Lancashire, UK
Salary: £55,000 to £65,000 Per annum, dependent on experience

Gafoor is a dynamic and rapidly growing family-owned business in Preston. They are a key player in their sector supplying poultry products to leading blue chip manufacturers nationally.
About the Role:
The company is now looking to recruit a ‘hands-on’ Head of Finance with a background in FMCG manufacturing, who will report directly to the Commercial Director. The successful candidate will hit the ground running and be able to take on the role with energy and strong technical ability. Alongside the main business, you will also oversee the financial management of the business’s subsidiaries.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage a small team including all areas of business finance
2. Preparation of statutory accounts, management accounts, and VAT returns
3. Maintain excellent communication and foster strong working relationships with banks, auditors, HMRC, and 3rd parties
4. Prepare monthly Management Accounts and maintain an accurate P&L
5. Responsible for meeting reporting deadlines including HMRC, ONS, companies house, annual audit management, and pension scheme reporting
6. Attend meetings and deliver a monthly board pack including sales performance, budgets, and forecasting
7. Be an active member of the company’s leadership team and play a key role in shaping the day-to-day management and culture of the business
About You:
The candidate must have skills and experiences in the following areas:
1. Fully Qualified (CIMA / ACCA / ACA)
2. Highly proficient in the Microsoft suite (Excel pivot tables, V-Lookups)
3. Experience in the use of accounting systems, specifically SAGE 500
4. Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines in fast-paced environment
5. Proven leadership skills in a large manufacturing operation with a multicultural workforce
6. Proven track record of achieving results
7. The skills to act as a mentor to develop financial awareness within other business functions and managers
8. Proven ability to forecast requirements, analyse and understand variances
9. A commercial outlook, familiar with profit Improvement plans
