A bit about the role As Area Manager you will oversee our 5 bed residential children's home and short breaks service. In this role, you will manage a team of up to 40 staff members, with two direct line reports. You'll ensure service delivery meets regulations and performance standards, aiming for outstanding external inspection ratings. You will promote safeguarding practises, and advocate fearlessly for children, families and young people. Responsibilities will include ensuring compliance and acting as the responsible individual for the services. As Area Manager, you'll collaborate closely with business development, fundraising, and other colleagues to build and strengthen relationships with both existing and potential commissioners. You'll gathering valuable local insights and use that knowledge to craft compelling business proposals. You'll contribute to tenders and grant applications, all aimed at sustaining and growing our cluster. As a leader, you'll implement necessary changes, ensure safeguarding practices and oversee resource planning to ensure high quality service delivery. About the service Monksfield is residential care service for disabled children with moderate to severe learning difficulties. The purpose-built bungalow features 5 bedrooms and spacious communal living and play areas. In addition to residential care, we offer a short breaks service in our Acorn unit ensuring a home from home experience. Our team collaborate with families and professionals to create tailored support packages which meet the needs of the children and young people in our care. Let's talk about you As the Children's Home Area Manager, you will ideally have: The L5 Leadership Qualification or working towards. The ability to develop and maintain effective networks, relationships, partnerships, and contacts to improve service and financial outcomes. The ability to successfully manage and deliver placement / commissioned services. Knowledge of Ofsted regulatory requirements and external inspection standards. Experience of managing and developing operational services for children, young people and their families, particularly children's homes. The ability to lead, motivate and manage a range of social care and support staff. The ability to improve service provision through the workforce development, addressing challenges within the management of people and service provision (improving employee performance).
