The young people we care for often require a high level of support and dynamic approach to risk management in order to support problems they may have with self-harming, behaviour and emotional regulation. Your role will involve working with our young people to promote independence through support with education, household tasks and general life skills. You will also update online care records and complete medication administration. In addition, you will be responsible for the general upkeep and tidiness of the home ensuring the young people live in homely environment. Maplehurst is a 5 bedded residential home for young people with diagnosed eating disorders, and other mental health needs. You will be working within the home, alongside a specialist residential team, and be a part of the dietetic team (Dietician, Dietetic Assistant/Support worker, 2 x residential cooks) Your role will involve cooking and preparing meals for our young people with complex and challenging eating disorders. Whilst some experience of working as a cook is desirable, full training will be given to those applicants who can cook and have a real desire to produce nutritional balanced meals with a passion for producing good food. Your role will involve planning and preparing quality meals for our young people, following strict meal plans, and ensuring correct portioning, labelling, and packaging of food items.
