Croesyceiliog is looking for an inspiring and enthusiastic Teacher of Girls PE, Welsh Baccalaureate, and Health & Wellbeing to join our dedicated team of professionals. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a highly ambitious school which is wholly focused on providing every opportunity for students to perform to their very best.
PE is taught as a discreet subject across Key Stages 3 and 4. The department teaches a variety of engaging topics across KS3. At KS4 PE and BTEC Sport has an excellent uptake of 6 large classes building on the solid foundation developed at KS3. All lessons are taught across well-equipped classrooms and brand new specialist facilities. The department has very high standards and students perform very well in GCSE PE, BTEC Sport, Public Services and Welsh Baccalaureate.
Within our Health and wellbeing AOLE team, there is a wealth of experience, good practice and commitment. We have one Director of Faculty and three Lead Practitioners who lead at a subject level. We believe in collaboration and sharing of ideas to develop professional expertise to enhance the learning experience of our students. The school has an exceptionally strong extra-curricular offer and the successful candidate will be expected to fully contribute to this.
All new members of staff receive a very strong programme of induction, which includes an allocated member of staff to support with the operational elements of joining a new school, as well as a tailored support package to meet individual needs. All teaching staff are also issued with a school 2-in-1 laptop device.
The right candidate will be expected to contribute to the development of the curriculum in line with Curriculum for Wales and teach across both key stages. Qualifications / Experience:
* Good Honour's degree subject related.
* PGCE/Qualified Teacher status.
* Experience of teaching KS3 and KS4.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies.
* Effective and systematic promotion of a positive attitude to learning with clear boundaries, sanction, praise and reward.
* Able to use ICT effectively for teaching and administration.
Personal Attributes:
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to manage a substantial workload effectively and independently and meet deadlines.
* Ability to establish good relationships and work in partnership with other staff, governors, parents and other stakeholders.
