This six-day course covers all the requirements to gain an SIA Door Supervisor Licence. The course modules include Working in the Private Security Industry, Working as a Door Supervisor, Conflict Management, Counter Terrorism Awareness, and Physical Intervention.
More Course Information:
This nationally recognised qualification is for anyone wishing to apply for a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a Door Supervisor. It is based on the relevant SIA specification for learning and qualifications and is supported by Skills for Security, the standards-setting body for the security industry, and the SIA, which regulates the private security industry.
Topics Covered:
The units include the main characteristics of the Private Security Industry, the importance of safe working practices to comply with legal requirements, the role and objectives of a Door Supervisor, powers of arrest relevant to a Door Supervisor, how to recognise, assess, and reduce risk in conflict situations, good practices to follow after conflict situations, health & safety, search techniques, physical interventions and the implications of their use, and the use of non-aggressive physical skills to protect yourself and others.
Assessment Method:
This qualification is assessed by practical assessments, Q&A, and multiple-choice examinations. There is an element of self-study for the course which involves the completion of a workbook.
Please be advised that as part of the practical assessments for the Door Supervisor course, all learners will be required to take part in role-play scenarios that need to be filmed to demonstrate that you have met the requirements of the qualification.
As part of the new regulations, anyone wishing to take an SIA course must have a first aid qualification, Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) or an equivalent. You must do this before the Door Supervisor Course - Book Here:
Broadside Training will be running EFAW courses in the week before all of our Door Supervisor courses to allow you to gain that qualification to be accepted onto this course if you don’t already have a recent certificate.
As soon as you have passed the course and gained your new qualification, you can apply for your SIA Door Supervisor licence and then begin work in the security industry.
