Description
FarmRight Ltd operates as Portfolio Investment Manager for the New Zealand Superannuation Fund and oversees more than 18,400 hectares of farm and orchard land across the country. At FarmRight we take a sustainable, long-term view, we invest in the success of our people and in opportunities which provide a win-win outcome for all involved. In 2017 FarmRight widened its scope into viticulture and horticulture management and today continues to analyse and acquire commercial rural properties, providing a need for ongoing operational and management capability.
An exciting opportunity has been created with the most recent acquisition of dairy land in Pendarves (20mins NE from Ashburton) to be converted to a 250 ha of Rockit and Joli Apple orchard. Growing on modern structures and utilising innovative technology and modern systems to enhance productivity and sustainability across the orchard.
Onsite development has commenced and as this progresses the requirement for more labour is steadily increasing.
POSITIONS WE ARE RECRUITING FOR NOW:
PERMANENT POSITIONS:
* 1x Office Administrator – Experience in an office environment required, payroll, accounts, purchasing, H&S, general office duties, supporting other staff in new development tasks as required.
* 10x Orchard Hands – Experience not required however is desirable in similar outdoor working environment.
FIXED TERM POSITIONS:
* 2x Digger Operators – This is a repetitive task role so experience not essential with the ability to obtain a ‘Tracks Endorsement’.
* 1x JCB Operator – Experience required.
* 1x Tractor Operator – Semi-skilled tractor knowledge and experience for cultivation.
* 15x Labourers – Physically fit and able to consistently perform manual tasks like wiring/layouts/standing poles etc.
DEVELOPMENT DUTIES (but not limited to):
* Installation of Orchard Trellis Structures: Setting up trellis systems, including cabling and wiring.
* Tree Training: Train trees to orchard trellis structures.
* Planting: Plant trees to specified depths and spacings.
* Machinery Operation: May be required to operate various types of orchard machinery such as hydraladas, tractors, diggers safely and efficiently (training will be provided).
* Adherence to Health and Safety Standards: Follow all health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
* Other Duties: Carry out any other reasonable instructions from supervisors and management.

* Previous experience in rural work is advantageous but not essential.
