JOB: QHSE Engineer
LOCATION: Birmingham
TERM: Permanent
SALARY: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum plus benefits (dependent on experience)
We are looking for a QHSE Engineer on a permanent basis in the Birmingham area with experience in the Manufacturing Industry. Your main duty will be to manage the Quality team and function within the manufacturing business as well as being hands-on with solving any Quality Engineering issues.
The QHSE Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
1. Proven experience as a QHSE Manager in a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment.
2. Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
3. NEBOSH or equivalent safety qualification is essential.
4. Internal or Lead Auditor certification (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) is highly desirable.
5. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
6. Ability to influence and engage staff at all levels to ensure a positive approach to QHSE.
7. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and create reports.
The QHSE Engineer role will involve:
1. Developing, implementing, and maintaining QHSE policies, procedures, and management systems in line with ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
2. Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and quality legislation and regulations.
3. Leading and coordinating internal and external audits, and managing non-conformities through effective corrective and preventive action plans.
4. Conducting risk assessments and supporting operational teams in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating risks.
5. Driving a culture of continuous improvement through regular training, toolbox talks, and employee engagement initiatives.
6. Monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on QHSE performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
7. Developing and delivering QHSE training programs to ensure employee awareness and understanding of standards and procedures.
8. Liaising with regulatory bodies, clients, and stakeholders to maintain positive relationships and ensure compliance.
9. Acting as the point of contact for all QHSE-related matters, providing expertise and guidance to the wider team.
