As the public face of our properties, you’ll provide a warm, friendly welcome, give information about the property, answer questions and make sure everyone has an enjoyable and memorable visit.
Salary: £11.88 an hour
Duration: Permanent
Hours: 450 hours a year. This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year.
The working pattern would vary, generally starting at 9am and finishing at either 4pm or 5pm, to include weekend and bank holiday working. Fewer hours will be worked in the winter.

What it's like to work here
Brimham Rocks is a popular tourist destination, and SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest), welcoming over 200,000 visitors per year, mainly in spring and summer. The collection of weird and wonderful rocks and surrounding moorland make this place special, and visitors come to walk, climb, explore, and experience nature and the great outdoors.
You will be based in the car park, at the Welcome Cabin, greeting visitors as they arrive and talking to them about what they can see and do at Brimham and how they can support the conservation work we do. You will mainly be outdoors.
Brimham Rocks is part of a portfolio with Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal, sharing a General Manager. The role will report into the Welcome Manager and be part of a team of eight Welcome & Service Assistants based at Brimham Rocks. There will be training and development opportunities within the regional Growing Support network.
There is a small core staff team at Brimham and over 40 volunteers that help with a variety of tasks including countryside conservation work and bookshop volunteering.
What you'll be doing
Day to day, you’ll deliver a great all-round customer service experience. You’ll be on hand answering queries and listen to what our visitors need so you can share the right information. Your role is to make sure our visitors have the best day they can. You’ll have the chance to be involved in different aspects of the visitor experience, from key property events to social media promotion - no two days are the same.
Great visitor experiences are in our nature, and we believe everyone should feel welcomed, appreciated and more engaged because of the excellent service you provide. This role would suit anyone with enthusiasm for delivering great customer service.
