Job Overview An exciting opportunity has arisen for dynamic individuals to join the Alcohol Liaison Nurse team. This is a community based post that will involve linking in with Bronglais General Hospital This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated nurse with an interest in alcohol misuse to join our clinical nurse specialist team. The successful applicant will need to have proven clinical skills and knowledge in this field. They should possess excellent communication skills and an ability to provide expert professional advice to support patients and their families throughout their journey. The successful candidate will be involved in working with patients who are change resistant drinkers who are not in contact with treatment services, but who have complex needs, in line with Alcohol Concern’s Blue light Project. The clinical nurse specialist (CNS) team works in close collaboration with the Gastroenterology Consultants and other Clinical Nurse Specialist within the hospital as well as working closely with the community Drug and alcohol and social care teams. Successful candidates will be expected to perform autonomously within the hospital and community environment, the role entails lone working. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speaker are equally welcome to apply. To work in collaboration with the Mental Health, Clinical and Nursing staff across the Primary and Secondary care sectors in the provision of highly specialised care to patients with Alcohol Misuse. To assist the Clinical Team in the delivery of any relevant aspect of patient care from diagnosis to discharge. To provide assessment, advice, information and referral for individuals experiencing alcohol misuse problems in and from the general hospital setting. To promote health, prevent disease and promote independence wherever possible. Participate where required in the education of staff, patients and the public. Works within agreed team protocols to accept direct referrals from Primary and Secondary Care Health/Social Care Professionals. To provide assessment, advice, information and referral for individuals experiencing alcohol misuse problems.
