At Abbott World Marathon Majors, our vision is to inspire the world through marathon running.
We create, build and support opportunities for all to discover the power of the marathon, from our virtual Global Run Club challenges to our 375 partner races in our Age Group World Rankings program, to the finish lines of our seven amazing Majors and our newly formed Gold Club. We celebrate every level of marathon runner.
We are going through a fast-changing and exciting phase of our journey. We just added Sydney as our seventh Major and Cape Town and Shanghai are on the path to joining us.
We need a Head of Content who can build on our strong content presence and deliver on a strategy that will help us continue to acquire and engage our audience in greater numbers and in more meaningful ways.

Who are you?
Your background could be in a combination of the following: journalism, social media management, marketing and content creation. In fact, the more of those areas your career has touched to date, the better we think you will fit in this wide-ranging role. We have social channels, video content, a podcast, a digital magazine and a website that will all come under your remit.
You can write, you’re full of creative ideas and you can communicate those ideas to your team and shape them together into best-in-class content across our suite of outlets.
Ideally you’ll have an enthusiasm for running and for the sport of marathons, but it’s not essential. Your skills in the above areas and an understanding of the marathon space and the people in it are going to be more important.
In this role, you will
* Manage a team of three including social media manager, head of creative and CRM manager.
* Work closely with your team and the Chief Operating Officer on the strategy that will inform all content planning and tactics across our suite of outlets, currently encompassing:
o Website
o Social channels
o Podcast
o Email
o YouTube channel
* Engage and manage relationships with third party suppliers of video and other content used to serve and enhance the vision and mission of Abbott World Marathon Majors.
* You will also lead on the relationships with sponsors and partners when it comes to content assets they are entitled to.
* Take the lead in crafting press releases around key announcements with the help of the Chief Operating Officer and CEO.
