ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
JOB INTRODUCTION
We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Engineer to work within the Engineering Department. The role of Electrical Contracts Engineer is to produce the electrical designs for the application of products which would include schematic/wiring diagrams, varying in degrees of complexity.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITY
1. Working to instruction and/or specifications produced by the Applications Engineers
2. Produce, design and/or modify drawings
3. Create detailed schematic designs based on the customer requirements - designs to include:
4. CT/VT design, Electrical Interlocking Designs, Auto Changeover Designs, control (Trip/Close) designs.
5. Liaise directly with Manufacturing and Quality team members on issues relating to drawings.
6. Assist in the production of contract job packs and other Manufacturing and Quality deliverables as required to meet on time delivery schedules.
7. Assist engineers with initial design requirements and conceptualise plans and details to accurately convey manufacturing requirements.
8. Provide engineering support and assistance to customers and internal departments.

1. Qualified to HNC level in an Electrical Engineering Discipline

5. Eye for detail and able to work at a high degree of accuracy

7. Detail oriented with the skill set to resolve problems
8. The ability to demonstrate a thorough understanding of drafting and design practices and theories
9. The ability to work by yourself or as a part of a team
10. The ability to prioritise and plan effectively
11. Good IT skills in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
12. Proficient in AutoCAD systems, preferably AutoCAD Electrical
13. Knowledge of electrical protection systems would be an advantage
14. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
15. Understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes
16. Knowledge of relevant industry switchgear standards
17. A minimum of 3 years of working within the switchgear industry
18. Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
19. Experience of dealing with customers and suppliers
