Job Advert: SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs (SEN)? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant school in Newbury. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a nurturing environment, making a real difference in the lives of students with a range of learning and developmental needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one and small group support for students with SEN
Support students in the classroom to ensure they can fully participate in learning activities
Help students develop their social, emotional, and communication skills
Work closely with class teachers and SENCO to monitor progress and adapt teaching methods
Assist with personal care and mobility needs when required
Foster an inclusive and positive learning environment for all students
Key Requirements:
Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable
A caring and empathetic approach to supporting students
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
A proactive, patient, and flexible attitude
A commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
Access to car is desirable
Relevant qualifications in education or SEN (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) would be an advantage

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
