Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant for a Secondary School based in North Tyneside. This provision caters to students ranging from 11 to 16 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
This is a temporary to permanent role starting immediately, which could become permanent for the right individual.
The normal shift pattern is Monday to Friday 8:30 to 16:30 and is a long-term position.
Working with Leader Education:

* Potential permanent contract after a qualifying period.
Responsibilities:
* Support the Teacher in the classroom.
* Be a motivating and supportive member to the children.
* Encourage students by assisting them in what they may need in the classroom.
* Support students in communicating effectively.
* Be proactive when explaining instructions.
* Empower students when reaching achievements or small goals.
* Use a key form of communication such as paraphrasing or summarising to conduct a tailored approach to students' learning.
* Follow the student's educational health care plans.
* Help to plan classroom activities and prepare materials needed for each lesson.
Requirements:
* Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one.
* Experience of working with children and/or young people with SEMH.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, flexibility, and adaptability to meet each child's needs.
* Willingness to adapt to the range of duties given.
