Global Crane Services is currently looking for candidates to join us as Trainee Mobile Crane Operators. Initial assessment training will be provided, and successful candidates will then progress to a Trainee Mobile Crane Operator position within the company.
We pride ourselves on ensuring our clients receive a high standard of services and that safety always remains a priority. As a Trainee Mobile Crane Operator, you will be trained to maintain these standards.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Compliance with and commitment to all GPSS Policies and Procedures.
2. Co-operate with Employers and co-workers to help everyone meet their legal requirements.
3. Always work to manufacturer’s guidelines / specifications.
4. Always adhere to road traffic regulations.
5. Go through the relevant training and familiarise yourself with the correct use of outriggers; ensuring the crane is set level on firm ground.
6. Have the ability to learn and fully understand the functions, capabilities and duty charts and related crane documentation that ensure the safe use of the crane.
7. Familiarise yourself with an understanding of how wind and other climatic conditions can affect the crane and load.
8. Complete Daily/Weekly Inspection Reports, Daily Hire Sheets, and all other necessary paperwork.
9. Be able to challenge and resist pressures from others into carrying out unsafe operations and take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and others who may be affected by your acts or omissions.
10. Be in good health to enable safe access and egress via the ladders and grab rails and demonstrate the correct use of manual handling.
11. Familiarise yourself with specific models of crane, and maintain and report any malfunctioning parts.
12. Constantly seek to improve ways in which the role operates within the business to achieve its objectives.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
1. Full Driver's Licence.
2. HGV Class C Licence.
3. Preferably familiarisation with plant, HIAB or similar equipment.
4. Fluent in both spoken and written English.
5. Ability to work as part of a team and use your own initiative.
A training acceptance form must be signed before any training will be undertaken.
