This role will be focused on leading the Production Planning function to efficiently tie in the flow of inbound materials, inbound supplier delivery performance and production planning requirements to ensure full support, to achieve 100% external delivery performance to the customer. You will be working closely with the Supply Chain and Planning Manager to interpret the demand forecast and manage the target inventory levels for finished goods and raw materials to maintain OTIF levels of 98.5% or better with the lowest possible levels of working capital. Additionally, you will be w orking closely with the Goods In team to ensure optimal levels of inventory storage and inbound delivery performance. What your impact will be: Monitor stock levels & identify new purchase requirements. Track open orders to ensure loads are delivered on time. Control the flow of inbound deliveries complying with delivery capacity constraints per day. Generate weekly re-order report for stock management. Maintain department KPI information. Submit monthly forecasts to raw material suppliers. Provide updates to the production team on any delays / problems with materials / suppliers. Collaborate with the customers to assist with weekly demand & any additional requests when required. Ensure efficiency is maximised via smooth batching and prioritisation. Limit equipment changeovers and operational disruption through accurate planning and prioritisation. Escalation of any issues to PSQDCI board (3Cs) to drive accountability. Manage team members performance and contributions, development, training, absenteeism, and discipline. Regular 1:1s with team member(s). Identify and expand team member(s) skills and capabilities promoting self-improvement and flexibility. Encourage knowledge sharing across teams to accelerate improvements and benefits. Cover the Supply Chain & Planning Manager to support with absence/holiday cover. What you'll need to succeed: Previous experience of working within an ERP / MRP system, including capacity planning software. Previous experience of working in a medium to large manufacturing environment, with awareness of production milestones, KPIs, Health and Safety requirements and performance metrics. Previous experience of leading a small team with varying levels of skills and experience. Experience with Production Planning/Manufacturing processes. Can confidently communicate with Internal stakeholders & External Customers / Suppliers. Membership of CIPS is desirable. Must be IT literate with a strong working knowledge of regular software and IT platforms. Have the highest of personal standards with an ability to mentor and promote improvement. Excellent people management skills and capabilities with a positive and engaging character. Ability to work unsupervised and complete daily tasks effectively and efficiently.
