EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is a subsidiary of Edvance, which is a joint venture between EDF and Framatome, established in 2018 in charge of the design and the realization of nuclear islands for new projects in France and worldwide. In particular, EPR-E is responsible for the design and construction of the nuclear island for the Hinkley Point C (HPC) project and preparing the design replication and engineering activities for the Sizewell C (SZC) Project. At HPC, we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes. Due to our ongoing project commitments, we are recruiting for a Construction Project Manager for our HPC Project. The MEH Construction Project Manager (PM) has the responsibility to ensure delivery of the construction activities for the life cycle of the contract or work package in accordance with the overall Project schedule in his buildings. The PM will ensure planning and delivery in accordance with all safety, quality, time, and cost parameters to meet the needs of the Project. The PM reports directly to a Senior Project Manager or Delivery Manager and is responsible for the direction of activities associated with the full life cycle delivery of a contract or work package assigned to them. The nature of the role is to work independently in some areas to ensure the effective delivery of activities in the program. The Project Manager will apply a project management approach to activities relating to design principles and system design to ensure all activities are delivered safely to quality, budget, and schedule.
Key Responsibilities
* Guarantee that Safety is the overriding priority for any activity performed during Pre-Construction activities which includes nuclear safety as well as Industrial Safety.
* Drive the MEH construction activity in a building from the handover from Civil Work Programme to the handover to Commissioning.
* Lead and update the MEH L4 schedule with the support of the planner.
Profile
The position may be required to travel to other company locations in the UK and possibly Europe as required.
* Degree educated or similar qualification in engineering, construction or related field is advantageous.
* Construction Project experience with a background in erection/maintenance of plant.
* General skills in Civil Works and MEH (Mechanical / Electrical / HVAC) and contracts management are required.
* Strong technical interest, particularly in the field of construction or maintenance of industrial installations.
* Fluent English required: writing technical documents and daily exchanges in English.
