We have an excellent Locum Independent Reviewing Officer opportunity available in the Knowsley, Merseyside area. The role will be based in the Safeguarding and Quality Assurance service.

Responsibilities:
7. Chairing Reviews: Lead statutory reviews of children's care plans, ensuring that they meet the needs of the child and comply with legal and policy requirements.
8. Quality Assurance: Monitor the quality and effectiveness of the care provided to children and young people, ensuring compliance with safeguarding standards.
9. Advocacy: Act as an advocate for the child, ensuring their views are central to the planning and decision-making process.
10. Collaboration: Work closely with social workers, carers, and other professionals involved in the child's care to ensure coordinated and effective service delivery.
11. Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and recommendations following reviews, highlighting areas of good practice and areas for improvement.
12. Challenge: Where necessary, challenge decisions and practices that are not in the child's best interest, escalating concerns when appropriate.
13. Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of services, using feedback from reviews to influence practice and policy.
To be considered for the IRO role...ideally, you will have:
14. BSc Social Work or equivalent
15. Social Work England Registration
16. Fostering Independent Review Experience
17. Experience in a similar IRO or quality assurance role.
18. In-depth knowledge legal frameworks with associated statutory legislation and statutory guidance
