Responsibilities
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest technologies and practices, identifying opportunities to optimize manufacturing processes.
* Ensure strict adherence to safety standards across all activities, including those involving external contractors. Guarantee plant controls are safe to operate and maintain while complying with health and safety legislation, policies, and standards.
* Implement and manage a business-led engineering reliability strategy through effective software and hardware management processes.
* Support the development of site revenue and capital budgets, identifying and leading the execution of capital projects.
* Foster a proactive Engineering Continuous Improvement culture by enhancing and developing manufacturing hardware and software activities cross-functionally.
* Train and coach Engineers to achieve competency in PLC/control systems, ensuring they possess the required skills to support site performance effectively.
* Maintain supplier contract content and relationships, regularly reviewing supplier effectiveness to ensure alignment with site objectives.
Experience Required
* Strong drive to identify and execute equipment improvement opportunities using plant-based automation solutions to enhance efficiency and performance.
* Proven experience in fault-finding and maintaining control systems, preferably with Allen Bradley (Rockwell) platforms (e.g., RSLogix500, Logix5000).
* Proficiency in software development and programming, including ladder logic.
* Familiarity with communication protocols and networks.
* Strong electrical knowledge with expertise in control systems.
* Experience in project management, from planning to execution.
* Awareness of functional safety principles and practices.
* Demonstrated success in driving improvements leading to reduced breakdowns or enhanced efficiency.
* Formal training in electrical automation, complemented by an awareness of process and mechanical engineering.
