Job Description
Our General Manager - Network Health and Safety is currently recruiting for an outstanding Health and Safety Advisor to join their highly experienced and growing team. Your primary purpose will be to work with network and hub management to ensure legal compliance with health and safety legislation, providing H&S advice and expertise to all business areas and teams, and supporting the H&S Team in delivering critical H&S projects and programmes.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Promoting and regulating a high standard of health & safety awareness to achieve compliance with legislation.
* Promoting a positive health and safety culture within DPD and supporting the strategic direction of the company.
* Supporting and advising sites in achieving compliance with health and safety legislation and effective reporting.
* Assisting sites with incident investigations and conducting investigations of major incidents.
* Undertaking frequent monitoring checks and inspections of sites as required.
* Collaborating to deliver progress towards Health and Safety Projects.
* Driving positive cultural change through employee consultation, engagement programs, and delivery of health and safety information.
* Attending site and departmental meetings as required.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you will ideally be NCRQ Qualified or hold the NEBOSH Diploma in Applied Health and Safety, or at least be working towards such qualifications. You should have an understanding of the application of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and its supporting legislation.
Due to the nature of our business and the operational hours of our new site, you must be able to work flexible hours to meet the site's H&S needs.
* Proven track record in producing high-quality Health and Safety documentation, including Risk Assessments and SSoW.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively in numerous formats.
* Comfortable working independently with the ability to prioritize and manage your time effectively.
* Ability to work collaboratively and supportively within the team.
* Strong IT skills with experience using Microsoft packages or Google Suite.
* Demonstrate DPD DNA of Accountability, Flexibility, Hard Work, Caring, Passion, and Respect.
* Ability to work flexibly.
