Role Responsibility Are you an experienced programme manager with a passion for helping people to get into work and succeed in employment? Kent County Council’s Economy Team is managing a new government programme called Connect to Work which aims to help people with long-term health conditions or disabilities and other disadvantaged groups to access employment and stay and succeed in work. We are looking for an experienced programme manager to oversee all aspects of the delivery of this high profile programme in Kent & Medway. This exciting role will involve managing a small programme delivery team and taking responsibility for the day to day implementation of the programme which will provide support to over 10,000 individuals. The post holder will need to work closely with a range of partners and stakeholders, manage contracts and hold suppliers to account, actively monitor programme delivery and continuously review and evaluate activity. The post holder will report to central government and local partners and stakeholders on progress whilst ensuring that targets are met and the programme is delivered within budget and in line with relevant regulations and public sector duties. Promoting the programme within Kent & Medway will be a key part of the role to ensure that take up of employment support is as expected. The post holder will be able to analyse information and respond to challenges to ensure that all target groups are reached, that project milestones are met and planned results are achieved. The post holder will be able to demonstrate an ability to liaise with senior stakeholders, motivate and support remote teams, manage complex workloads and make use of exceptional planning and organisational skills. The post holder will need to demonstrate a sound knowledge of supported employment and the barriers to accessing the labour market, robust project and programme management skills (activities and financial) and excellent report writing, presentation and communication skills. The post will be based in Maidstone with some remote working but there will be a requirement to spend time in Medway and travel throughout the county regularly to meet with partners, suppliers and programme beneficiaries.
