Position: 1:1 Teaching Assistant
Location: Burnley, Lancashire
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
Start Date: 6th January 2025

We are seeking a committed and empathetic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work within our welcoming and inclusive primary school in Burnley. This rewarding role involves providing personalized support to a Year 3 child with autism, ensuring they feel supported, engaged, and empowered to reach their full potential.
Responsibilities:
* Providing tailored 1:1 support to the child in the classroom and during other school activities.
* Assisting the child with their learning, emotional, and social development.
* Working collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and other staff to implement an individualized learning plan.
* Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Helping the child with transitions and routines to ensure a structured and comfortable day.
Qualifications:
* Experience working with children, ideally in a 1:1 or SEN support role.
* Knowledge or understanding of autism and strategies for supporting children with additional needs.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to support the child’s needs.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while maintaining a proactive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certificate.
* Training in autism awareness or other SEN-specific areas.
