We are seeking a committed and empathetic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work within our welcoming and inclusive primary school in Burnley. This rewarding role involves providing personalized support to a Year 3 child with autism, ensuring they feel supported, engaged, and empowered to reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities: Providing tailored 1:1 support to the child in the classroom and during other school activities. Assisting the child with their learning, emotional, and social development. Working collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and other staff to implement an individualized learning plan. Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment. Helping the child with transitions and routines to ensure a structured and comfortable day. Essential Criteria: Experience working with children, ideally in a 1:1 or SEN support role. Knowledge or understanding of autism and strategies for supporting children with additional needs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to support the child’s needs. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while maintaining a proactive attitude. Desirable Criteria: Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certificate. Training in autism awareness or other SEN-specific areas.
