An exciting opportunity has become available for a research nurse or AHP to join the research team within Division 1 (Cancer). This role will require cross site working at times.
The Division 1 portfolio is very active at UHD offering trials in multiple specialities within cancer care. The post holder will work closely with the Senior Research Nurses and other members of the wider multi-disciplinary team to offer trial opportunities to both inpatients and outpatients.
Clinical experience in oncology and/or research is essential. You will be responsible for assessing and managing the care pathways for patients participating in clinical trials, being responsible for a caseload of trial patients. This will involve the identification, recruitment, education and monitoring of these patients and the collection and documentation of accurate data. You will be required to prioritise your own workload and to work autonomously as well as being responsible for identifying new research opportunities.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate good communication skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, be highly organised, flexible, have good attention to detail and have the ability to adapt your working day according to what opportunities arise.
The post will be predominantly working within the Division 1 team, however you will need to be flexible in your working approach, and provide cross-cover and collaboration where required. There may be a requirement to work across our Bournemouth and Poole sites on occasion.

Person Specification
Knowledge
* Broad clinical knowledge of research speciality
* Research knowledge of ICH GCP
* Awareness of relevant national clinical or research guidelines and service frameworks
* Understanding of research processes
Experience
* Experience caring for patients in a primary or secondary care setting
* Relevant experience working within the speciality area
* Participation in clinical audit and evaluation
* Experience working within clinical research
Qualifications
* Registered with the NMC [or relevant professional body]
* Willing to undertake GCP within 1 month of being in post
* Have or be working towards 1st level degree
Technical Skills
* Computer literacy within a range of applications
* Effective written and verbal communication skills
* Venepuncture
* Ability to seek and obtain informed consent (meets Trust consent competencies)
