To support the Specialty Manager in the operational management of the General Surgery Directorate, being able to work on a reactive basis to the needs of the Directorate. This involves providing line management responsibility to a designated group of staff, managing waiting lists and managing day-to-day operational issues as they arise. The post holder priorities his/her own workload, including long-term tasks in support of the General Surgery Administration Service. Required to work without immediate referral to the Service Manager, expected to use own initiative and to problem solve. The post holder will also support the Specialty Manager in performing designated activities and tasks that contribute to UHW wide service objectives. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
