Principal Lecturer & Course Leader / Course Leader & Principal Lecturer (Teaching) in Diagnostic Radiography
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic, and highly motivated UK HCPC-registered radiographer to lead our BSc in Diagnostic Radiography course.
You Will
* Have experience in course leadership, curriculum development and teaching within Higher Education.
* Be registered with the HCPC as a diagnostic radiographer.
* Hold relevant qualifications.
* Demonstrate a passion for radiography education and have experience supporting learners in both clinical and university settings.
* Show an interest in research.
* Have excellent communication skills.
Main duties of the job
* To lead the BSc Diagnostic Radiography course, overseeing day-to-day operations, completing assigned tasks, and ensuring the smooth running of the program.
* To design, develop, and deliver innovative learning materials and assessments for undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including blended learning approaches. This includes supervising student dissertations and managing assessment processes within the Diagnostic Radiography course.
* To provide high-quality teaching for diagnostic radiographers and allied health students at all levels, through face-to-face, online, and practical methods, ensuring adherence to quality assurance procedures.
* To contribute to leadership by managing the diagnostic radiography academic team and other allied health colleagues.
* To act as a Personal Academic Tutor.
* To take an active role in cross-School activities, including teaching, contributing to the inter-professional philosophy of the School.
* To carry out academic administrative work and participate in relevant committees within the School, College and University.
* To support and contribute to practice education as requested by the Practice Education Lead / Team and/or nominee.
* To engage in and maintain personal and professional development, including research, scholarship, CPD, and professional practice. Participate in training activities and support staff development to meet job demands.
* To participate in recruitment and selection activities.
* To undertake any other reasonable duties requested by the Head of Department or nominee.
* Take steps to ensure and enhance personal health, safety, and well-being and that of other staff and students.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
* Active HCPC registration.
* A Masters degree in Diagnostic Radiography or a relevant subject area.
Desirable
* Teaching qualification or HEA Fellowship.
* Doctorate in a relevant subject.
Knowledge and Skills Essential
* Evidence of effective team-working and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire, influence and motivate others through collaborative working practices.
* Effective organisation and prioritisation skills to independently manage a busy and varied workload, as well as provide support to colleagues.
* Ability to communicate confidently and clearly, both orally and in writing, with a wide range of stakeholders including students, academic and support staff colleagues, and external partner representatives.
* Evidence of ongoing continuous professional development in Diagnostic Radiography.
* Ability and commitment to supervising student research projects.
Desirable
* Evidence of clear research plans, publication and/or scholarly activity consistent with career stage, and evidence of capacity to contribute to high quality research outputs.
Experience Essential
* Up to date knowledge, experience and expertise in Diagnostic Radiography education.
* Evidence of teaching in practice and/or Higher Education, including the ability to enthuse, motivate and facilitate student and intellectual challenge, using a variety of methods of learning and teaching.
Desirable
* Experience of inter-professional practice and/or education.
* Experience of clinical skills teaching and simulation for Diagnostic Radiography.
