SURREY CHARITY – HEAD OF OPERATIONS
My client is a Surrey based, vibrant charity who are well known in their local area for giving young people the opportunity to realize their full potential and to achieve their goals through a vast array of community based projects. Hours of Work: 35 hours per week
Responsible to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Responsible for: HR Manager, Facilities Manager, Facilities Manager, Systems Analyst, Reception Manager
Manage and develop Central Services to meet regulatory responsibilities and provide effective organisational systems, policies, and support for staff and managers to achieve strategic aims. Lead HR, property management, IT, compliance, and health and safety.
Strategic Leadership and Management:
* Lead the strategic direction as part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
* Accountable for Central Services, delivering integrated support across HR, property management, IT systems, and compliance.
* Manage senior staff within Central Services.
* Drive transformation of systems and ways of working to improve service quality.
* Support the mission to help people to 'belong, contribute, and thrive'.
Governance and Compliance:
* Fulfil the role of Company Secretary, ensuring compliance with charity and corporate law.
* Lead on compliance, policy framework development, and statutory obligations.
* Provide training to ensure staff meet policy and regulatory requirements.
* Act as Data Protection Officer, ensuring compliance with Data Protection Regulations.
* Lead on quality management and maintain accreditation under Trusted Charity.
* Embed effective risk management practices.
IT:
* Manage IT hardware and software needs, support contracts, and develop new IT systems.
* Promote digital transformation and ensure staff utilize new technology.
* Support new projects, including property acquisition and development.
HR:
* Ensure HR strategy aligns with law, good practice, and values.
* Oversee development of internal practices, policies, and working culture.
Facilities:
* Manage Facilities Manager and oversee maintenance plans for buildings.
* Ensure all required insurances are in place.
Budget and Finance:
* Prepare and manage the annual budget for central services.
Additional Duties:
* Perform other duties within the role's grade and remuneration.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults. Enhanced DBS disclosure required.
