Bramble Ward – Male Acute Mental Health service Bramble Ward is one of our 16 bed male emergency acute inpatient services. The ward provides a safe and stabilising environment for individuals who are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness and require an emergency admission. The ethos of the service is about assessing and treating individuals in the least restrictive environment and planning for discharge in a robust and timely fashion. With a focus on stabilisation, we support individuals to manage their mental health, reinforce daily living skills and prepare for independent life back in the community. Our team work closely and collaboratively with service users, their families and the referrer to provide a seamless pathway from referral to discharge. Our approach is recovery focused and supported by a comprehensive multi-disciplinary team, contributing to shorter lengths of stay. Post: (Band 5) Occupational Therapist Base: Bramble Ward, Cygnet Hospital Sherwood, Rufford Colliery Lane, Rainworth, Mansfield, NG21 0HR Salary: Up to £31,865 p/a (DOE) Caseload: Up to 16 patients Responsible to: Service Manager for Line management supervision & Occupational Therapist (Band 6 or above) for professional supervision. Hours: 40 hours per week (5 days) Occupational Therapy Directorate Under the leadership of our occupational therapy directors we support over 150 Occupational Therapists. Working together as a large team we provide support to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups & become involved in service development. Every service line has a clinical lead occupational therapist to lead and develop evidence based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathway. We ensure our occupational therapists have a voice through participating in service model development, utilising the expertise and support of our clinical lead occupational therapists. Occupational Therapy Preceptorship & Induction: We offer a 12 month Occupational Therapy Preceptorship for all newly qualified Occupational Therapists to support and consolidate core Occupational Therapy skills. We also offer a sensory integration preceptorship for those with an interest in sensory integration.
