Job Title: Senior Finance Business Partner

The Role
1. Providing financial leadership and support to ensure the financial health and operational efficiency of the organisation.
2. Act as the financial conscience for the business, working closely with senior leadership to align financial strategy with operational goals.
3. Develop a deep understanding of key stakeholder KPIs and determine the necessary reporting mechanisms to support their achievement, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
4. Take a leading role in the month-end close process within the Group timetable.
5. Leading the maintenance and reconciliation of balance sheet reviews and general ledger accounts.
6. Review and reconcile inter-company accounts.
7. Support the Finance team in maintaining the integrity of accounting records.
8. Prepare and present detailed financial analyses and reports to senior management and business stakeholders to inform decision-making.
9. Facilitate the production of robust TOTEX and ODI forecasts.
10. Provide accurate, timely analysis and insight on monthly, annual and AMP performance against targets on outputs and finances and drive action within delivery areas where activity is off track.
11. Identify key risks and opportunities to annual and AMP performance commitments and work with delivery teams to mitigate risks and capitalise on opportunities.
12. Preparation and presentation of reporting to the strategic leadership team, Sub Area boards and other approval bodies.
13. Lead reviews of current finance processes, driving improvements across the finance structure to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
14. Investigate and resolve audit findings.
15. Support the production of year-end accounts and the Annual Performance Report for Ofwat.
16. Ensure accurate data entry into Oracle with the Financial Reporting and Planning Manager.
17. Deliver management information and insights to business stakeholders to support daily operation.
18. Ensure the integrity of numbers provided to business stakeholders, maintaining consistency with corporate reporting.
19. Ensure strict adherence to procurement financial regulations.
20. Play a critical role in delivering the budget, working closely with the Finance Business Partner and Financial Reporting and Planning Manager.
21. Participate in the budget process with Operations, ensuring it is straightforward for non-finance stakeholders while maintaining engagement with the final numbers.
22. Lead the monthly forecast process with business stakeholders, ensuring timely and rigorous submissions.
What You'll Need
1. ACA qualification or ACCA/CIMA with significant experience or qualification.
2. Strong experience of management and financial accounts.
3. High level of attention to detail and ability to work through large amounts of data.
4. Strong report writing skills with ability to pitch output at differing levels within a business.
5. Experienced in leading forecast and budget processes.
6. IT literate with strong Microsoft Office skills particularly in Excel with a desirable knowledge of Oracle but not essential.
7. Knowledge on financial results to both financial and non-financial professionals at SMT and Exec levels.
8. It would be desirable to have knowledge of the Water Industry and its regulatory framework.
9. Experience of preparing statutory accounts.
