Job Summary: As a Private Client Solicitor, you will manage a varied caseload of private client matters, including wills, trusts, probate, estate planning, and tax advice. You will provide expert legal advice and support to a wide range of clients, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and sensitivity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in private client law and a passion for delivering exceptional client service.
Key Responsibilities: Client Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing comprehensive legal advice on private client matters.
Wills and Probate: Draft, review, and advise on wills, codicils, and probate matters, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
Trusts: Establish and manage trusts, advising clients on the best structures to meet their needs and objectives.
Estate Planning: Provide strategic advice on estate planning, including inheritance tax planning and the use of lifetime gifts.
Court of Protection: Handle Court of Protection applications and advise on issues relating to mental capacity.
Tax Advice: Offer guidance on the tax implications of various private client transactions, including inheritance tax and capital gains tax.
Compliance: Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, and professional standards.
Business Development: Actively participate in business development activities, including networking events, to promote the firms services and attract new clients.
Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues across the firm to deliver seamless legal services to clients.
Requirements: Qualifications: Qualified solicitor with a current Practising Certificate.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years PQE in private client law, with a proven track record of managing a diverse caseload.
Skills: Strong technical knowledge in wills, trusts, probate, and estate planning.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Proficient in the use of legal research tools and software.
Desirable Attributes: Membership: STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) qualification or working towards it.
