Job Description: Production / Warehouse Supervisor
Location: Kettering
Salary: £28,500, plus shift allowance
We are working with our locally based client to find them a suitably qualified candidate for their Production Warehouse Supervisor role. Whilst in training, this role will initially be on the day shift; however, the plan is that this will move to a night shift and the hours of work will be Monday to Friday.
The main objectives of the role are to supervise a team who are processing components into a quality finished product using a CNC machine and woodworking machinery, whilst identifying and rectifying poor quality work, and working alongside the other team members. You should be able to work to set time guidelines to achieve a required level of output as well as maintaining a high level of service to clients.
Main Tasks:
1. Accurately applying instructions from work orders and bills of materials to the process for manufacturing production using CNC machinery.
2. To accurately pick components from stock locations as required.
3. To process wooden components to high quality using a variety of machines including CNC, sanding wheels and discs, and engraving equipment.
4. To accurately drill using either hand or drill press.
5. To stain wooden components and polish using pedestal polishing wheels.
6. To assemble wooden and metal components utilizing glue, nails, screws, etc.
7. To accurately fit and locate bespoke trims.
8. To repair broken and damaged products.
You should also be adept at inputting data into a management system to reflect orders being processed, operate all warehouse machinery, perform accurate stock counts, and investigate/input variances whilst maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
You will hold responsibility for maintaining internal relationships with the Warehouse Manager as well as other internal stakeholders. You should be confident to identify issues and refer to Management when required. This will include any reports of dangerous occurrences within the warehouse, H&S issues, problems relating to any machinery/MHE, and any inaccuracies in stock/records.
Person Specification:
You will have experience in the use of belt sanders or similar machinery. Provide evidence of inputting data correctly and the use of MIS software as well as experience of having worked in a warehouse/factory environment.
You should have experience in operating machinery, ideally, including CNC, Polishers, Sanding Machines, Drills, and hand tools. The client uses a bespoke CNC machine; therefore, full training will be provided so you must be willing to learn and also happy to work alongside the team.
