Job summary We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, knowledgeable and enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician to join our hardworking team to grow the service and provide support to the Haematology and Oncology Pharmacy team. Main duties of the job Our Oncology Pharmacy team aims to provide a high level of clinical expertise to patients whilst also delivering a patient centred, compassionate and personable experience. As an Oncology Pharmacy Technician, your day to day role will be to work alongside the Lead Pharmacy Technician for Oncology Services, the Clinical Trials Team, the Oncology Pharmacists and the Oncology ward teams as well as the Main Inpatient Dispensary Team and the OncologyOutpatient Pharmacy. Therefore, this role requires the post holder to be able to communicate efficiently and effectively and be able to manage their time and workload productively in addition to being comfortable working independently. You will be helping to provide a thorough and committed ward based service by undertaking POD checking at ward level, supporting medicines reconciliation and undertaking and checking drug histories. You will assist in the facilitation of discharging patients and the counselling of medications on discharge. You will be required to assist, when needed, in the provision of Oncological clinical trials. This will include the dispensing, checking, handing out and counselling of both IMP and supportive medications. You will support our clinical areas with their pharmacy stock management, this includes a regular controlled drugs check & ward top ups.
