Amazon seeks an innovative, capable, and motivated individual to be a Solutions Architect II on the Direct Tax Technology team, based in Seattle. The role is responsible for ensuring the tax professionals of Amazon’s Global Tax Reporting and Compliance organization (R&C) are supported in their mission with world-class technology and processes built on AWS. The impact of this role is evidenced by the ability to innovate robust and scalable capabilities that empower our customers and the organization to continue to meet the unique challenges of Amazon.
As a Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for ensuring the tax professionals of Amazon’s Direct Tax Reporting and Compliance organization (R&C) are supported in their mission by world-class technology and processes. The impact of their work is evidenced in improved efficiency in processing, empowered customers, and a Tax department that continues to meet the unique challenges of Amazon. This role is expected to lead by example to earn the trust of your team and customers.
Key job responsibilities:
1. Tackle tax technology challenges with scalable solutions delivered in a quick-and-nimble fashion.
2. Be trusted advisors to their R&C customers and engage on projects with high degrees of complexity and business criticality.
3. Help define requirements, design, build, and rollout solutions.
4. Work with stakeholders and manage the complexity of competing needs and timelines.
5. Support customers through reporting and compliance cycles, mentoring, troubleshooting, and running processes as needed.
6. Understand the solutions we have today, applying them where appropriate and contribute to new capabilities when needed.
7. Own particular processes and/or parts of our technology toolset, providing subject matter expertise and mentorship.
8. Listen to customers across the organization and expand our toolset to the benefit of all, avoiding point solutions.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience within specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with scripting (e.g. Python, PowerShell)
- Knowledge of cloud architecture
