Pensions Payroll Administrator

About the role
You will deliver the payroll service to pensioner members of the Royal Mail Pension Plan, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, Trustee contracts and the specified service levels in contractual agreements with Plan Trustees.
You will:
• Take responsibility for processing, reconciliation, and payment of monthly Pensioner Payroll and daily lump sums
• Calculate ad-hoc payments, including suspended Pensions
• Deal with member queries and third parties, such as HMRC
• Deliver the product to agreed service and quality standards, in accordance with Plan rules and HRS service specification.
• Play a full part in developing and delivering continuous improvement activities in accordance with our PASA Gold Standard and Continuous Improvement frameworks.
• Develop and maintain positive, effective and professional working relationships with customers, clients, stakeholders and Royal Mail colleagues, delivering consistently excellent value-added service
About you
• Educated to at least A level standard with strong English Language and Mathematics at GCSE level (grades C to A*)
• Desirable CIPP qualification or working towards it
• 2 years’ experience as a payroll practitioner on a large payroll
• Proven planning and organisational skills, including experience of delivering to demanding timescales
• Effective problem-solving ability
• Experience of a pensioner payroll - desirable but not essential
• Strong track record / demonstrable experience as an experienced, professional pensions practitioner, with a strong understanding of UK pensions, particularly DB and Career Average schemes.
• Deep working knowledge of HMRC rules and regulations
