Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Legal Secretary with a minimum of five years experience in Conveyancing, Wills and Probate to join our dynamic small legal team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our legal professionals by managing administrative tasks, ensuring efficient office operations, and facilitating effective communication within the firm. This position requires a proactive individual with excellent time management skills and a strong proficiency in various IT applications.
Responsibilities
1. Provide comprehensive administrative support to legal professionals, including managing schedules and appointments.
2. Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents using Microsoft Word and Laserform.
3. Conduct audio typing of legal correspondence and documentation accurately and efficiently.
4. Maintain organised filing systems for both physical and electronic documents.
5. Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and external parties via email, telephone, and in-person interactions.
6. Manage incoming correspondence, including emails and phone calls, ensuring timely responses.
7. Assist in the preparation of case files and maintain up-to-date records.
8. Ensure compliance with legal procedures and confidentiality standards.
Experience
The successful candidate should possess the following skills:
1. Minimum of 5 years experience in a legal environment specialising in Conveyancing, Wills and Probate.
2. Proficient in IT applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, Laserforms.
3. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
4. Excellent time management skills to prioritise workload effectively.
5. Experience with audio typing is highly desirable.
6. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
