About the Role
Are you detail-driven with a knack for numbers and a passion for getting things right first time? Join us as an Income Assistant and become a vital part of our fast-paced finance team. Based in Hemel Hempstead with the flexibility to work from home up to 50% of the time, you’ll help ensure our financial transactions are accurate, compliant, and on time – supporting smooth operations across our much-loved holiday parks. Whether it's reconciling bank statements or resolving queries with teams on site, your precision and problem-solving skills will help keep everything ticking along behind the scenes.
In this role, you’ll:
1. Process invoices and manage rebates and sundry payments
2. Handle customer queries and ensure accurate posting of financial transactions
3. Conduct daily bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
4. Manage refunds, chargebacks, and journal entries using ERPx and Seaware systems
5. Reconcile daily takings and investigate discrepancies
6. Support the Income Team in reducing outstanding debt
7. Communicate effectively with internal teams and customers
8. Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes
9. Help streamline and improve processes where possible
10. Contribute to a collaborative and supportive team culture
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
1. A strong understanding of accounts receivable and basic accounting principles
2. Experience with bank reconciliations and financial systems
3. Proficient Excel skills, including pivot tables and v-lookups
4. A proactive, problem-solving mindset with great attention to detail
5. Excellent communication and customer service skills
6. Ability to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines
7. A positive attitude and eagerness to contribute to team success
8. High accuracy and organisational skills
9. Familiarity with multi-site or high-volume environments (desirable)
10. An accountancy qualification such as AAT (desirable but not essential)
