The starting salary for this position is £11,460.56 per annum (pro rata to £23,576 FTE), working 17.5 hours per week.
This is a fixed term contract job role for 6-months from the start date, to cover a current sickness absence within the team. There is, however, the possibility of an extension.
The working hours for this role are Monday to Friday, 8am to 11:30am.

About Surrey Adult Learning
Surrey Adult Learning is a leading provider of diverse daytime, evening and Saturday courses and learning opportunities for adults. We offer a wide range of qualification courses, including English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), maths and digital skills. Our courses also cater to individuals with learning disabilities, mental health conditions and parents/carers seeking to upskill to support their children. Additionally, we provide courses for personal development in various subjects such as arts and crafts, languages and exercise. Our outreach provision is designed to assist those currently facing life challenges.
About the role
This role will incorporate routine cleaning and general maintenance which ensures the safe and smooth operation of the Centre. You'll need to be polite, friendly and welcoming; delivering excellent customer care for the users of the Centre.
On a day-to-day basis you can expect to be involved in the following:
* Ensuring classrooms and equipment are set up as required
* Ensuring the Centre is clean and welcoming at all times
* Carrying out general maintenance and upkeep of buildings and grounds
* Acting as point of contact for workmen and contractors
* Ensuring routine health and safety checks are undertaken
* Escalating any health and safety concerns to the Centre Coordinator, involving Property and Fire colleagues as appropriate
* Acting as a key-holder, routinely opening and locking up the Centre, as well as in the event of adverse weather or an emergency situation
Shortlisting Criteria
To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your application will clearly evidence the following:
* A practical approach to tasks with good problem-solving skills
* Able to work well as part of a team
* Able to listen and communicate effectively
* Basic DIY ability
* Previous caretaking, or similar, experience
You will also need to be able to demonstrate a practical and confident approach, as some lone working is involved in this role.
