Google Technical Program Manager, Android Intelligence in London, United Kingdom
Responsibilities:
1. Lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise.
2. Plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle.
3. Manage project schedules, identify risks, and clearly communicate them to project stakeholders.
4. Explain your team's analyses and recommendations to executives and discuss technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.
5. Develop scalable processes to structure programs within the NextGen organization.
6. Align your area on a focused program strategy in alignment with the engineering multi-year vision for Android NextGen.
7. Plan and schedule for major/minor milestones considering overall project deliverables, triaging and prioritizing features and bugs, getting cross-functional support, and escalating as required.
8. Work closely with teams both locally and remotely.
9. Seek out all necessary schedule inputs and develop a solid, defensible plan for software development release and keep the team tracking to it.
10. Spot, track, and communicate key risks and help identify solutions to mitigate those.
11. Manage communication of progress/status within the core team and externally (customers, partners, etc.), and escalate issues as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
2. 5 years of experience in program management.
3. Experience in the full software development life cycle, from concept to production.
4. Embedded experience in Android or OS development.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience managing large, complicated SDLC projects that span multiple quarters.
2. Experience with the Android platform, software/hardware ecosystem.
3. Experience with Java/Python/C++.
4. Experience with ML/AI.
