Purchasing Administrator
Salary: £28k
Working Hours: Monday – Friday / 8am – 4pm
Location: Chester
Our client based in Chester is looking for a Purchasing Administrator to join their team on a permanent basis to provide purchasing and administrative service to their site, also providing administrative support to the Operations Manager on site.
Performance Objectives
1. Generate purchase orders using SAP and issue to supplier for buying of services and goods.
2. Upload customer purchase orders onto SAP.
3. Manage materials in SAP (i.e. new products).
4. Enter GRNs onto the SAP system in a timely manner.
5. Negotiate with suppliers for best prices and lead times.
6. Implement KPIs to monitor supplier performance.
7. Set up and maintain supplier service level agreements.
8. Produce KPIs relating to department expenditure.
9. Generate monthly spend reports including analysis.
10. Control the stock area to ensure min/max levels are maintained.
11. Ensure stock is put away in a timely manner.
12. File purchase orders, invoices, etc. in a timely manner.
13. Maintain purchasing records to an auditable standard.
14. Liaise with the group regarding the purchasing process.
15. Perform supplier desktop audits.
16. Produce production shortage reports.
17. Support the Finance Manager with queries regarding customer/supplier purchase orders, invoices, SAP, personnel, etc.
18. Research the market for innovative products/best practices.
19. Co-ordinate general company queries received by telephone.
20. Manage visitor bookings.
21. Support the production team with ad-hoc requests, booking flights, taxis, etc.
22. Provide administrative support to the Operations Manager.
23. Perform any other reasonable tasks as and when required.
Person Specification
1. Previous SAP experience is preferable.
2. 2-3 years’ administrative experience, preferably in purchasing.
3. Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
4. Able to prioritise own workload.
5. Able to work on own initiative and autonomously.
6. Excellent spelling and grammar.
7. Excellent attention to detail.
8. Good communication skills.
9. Works well in a multifunctional environment.
10. CIPS qualification and manufacturing experience would be desirable.
