Main duties of the job
This is a Consultant in Dermatology appointment anticipated to commence as soon as possible. This 7-10 PA post in Dermatology will be across both Epsom and St Helier sites and will support the further development of Dermatology services. The post holder will undertake a range of outpatient clinics including Two Week Rule; General and Minor Procedure with Paediatric Dermatology as an essential. Expertise in any sub-speciality which enhances the department’s reputation such as Inflammatory/complex cases, Phototherapy, and Biologics would also be desirable.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Principle Duties of the Post:
The principal duty of this post is to provide a comprehensive clinical service to patients. The consultant will be able to see ward referrals, complete outpatient clinics including two-week rule (suspected cancer) patients as well as run a minor op (surgical) list, preferably with paediatric experience.
* Comply with the GMC’s guidance on ‘Good Medical Practice’.
* Maintain patient confidentiality.
* Undertake duties defined within the attached job plan in agreement with your Clinical Director.
* Be responsible and managerially accountable for the reasonable and effective use of Trust resources.
* Ensure personal attendance at the Trust’s corporate Induction.
* Participate in the Trust’s Statutory & Mandatory training programme.
* Be responsible for the Clinical Management of in and out patients under your care.
* Review ward referrals either in person or to give advice to junior members of the team.
Person specification
Requirements
* Hold a medical qualification or qualification registered with the GMC.
Experience
* Minimum of 6 months NHS Dermatology consultant experience.
Clinical Experience
* Able to contribute to the full range of skills required for the on-call rota for the specialty.
* Skin cancer and cutaneous surgery.
Paediatric Experience
* Paediatric experience is desirable.
