Philanthropy Lead - 12 Month Maternity Cover Contract
£50,000
1 day a week in the office
Part-time and compressed working offered.
We are supporting War Child in their search for a passionate and experienced Philanthropy Lead to cover maternity leave within their high-performing team. Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, you will play a pivotal role in driving their fundraising efforts, nurturing relationships with major donors, and leading a team to achieve results. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a tangible difference at a time of unprecedented need.
Responsibilities:
1. Cultivate and manage relationships with major donors to secure 5-6 figure gifts and drive long-term growth.
2. Lead, mentor, and develop the Philanthropy Manager and Executive.
3. Contribute to the development and implementation of the philanthropy strategy.
4. Oversee the planning and delivery of a diverse portfolio of philanthropy events, including the signature gala.
5. Ensure excellent relationship management and stewardship of donors.
Requirements:
1. Extensive experience in major donor fundraising, ideally within an international development or humanitarian charity.
2. Proven track record of achieving fundraising targets, including securing six-figure gifts.
3. Exceptional relationship management, communication, and negotiation skills.
4. Strong leadership skills with experience in line management and team management.
5. Strategic thinker with experience in developing and implementing philanthropy strategies.
6. Able to start on or around July 1st.
