Required Skills SolidWorks CAD Machine Design Job Summary Some design engineers work on standard products. Others design automated machinery that makes an impact on industries worldwide. This role is for the second type. They’re looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to help develop bespoke automation solutions for complex manufacturing challenges. If you enjoy designing machinery that moves, assembles, and automates processes, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. What’s in it for you? - Big projects, real impact - Your designs won’t just sit in a folder; they’ll be built and used in high-tech production environments. - A dynamic work environment - Every project is different, keeping the work fresh and challenging. - Autonomy & ownership - You’ll be trusted to take designs from concept to completion. - Work with the best tools - SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and other cutting-edge design software. - Collaboration at its best - Work closely with electrical, controls, and manufacturing teams to bring designs to life. The Role - Develop detailed mechanical designs for automation systems and machinery. - Work on full system designs, from concept sketches to final manufacturing drawings. - Conduct FEA, motion studies, and stress analysis to ensure optimal performance. - Select and specify mechanical components, from actuators to high-precision bearings. - Collaborate with controls engineers to integrate mechanical and software systems. - Support manufacturing teams during the build and assembly process. - Troubleshoot design challenges and find innovative solutions to improve performance. What You’ll Need - A degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. - Experience designing machinery, automation, or production equipment. - Strong CAD skills - ideally with SolidWorks or AutoCAD. - Knowledge of materials, fabrication techniques, and mechanical systems. - A problem-solving mindset and a passion for engineering. - The ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines. Why Join? This isn’t just another design role - it’s an opportunity to shape the future of automation. If you want to see your designs in action, work on complex engineering challenges, and push the limits of mechanical design, this is the role for you. Sound interesting? Let’s talk.
