The Mastic Asphalt Council (MAC) is the trade association for the Mastic Asphalt industry, representing more than 70 companies including Mastic Asphalt manufacturers, contractors and associated suppliers.
About the Role
We are looking for a full-time director to raise construction industry awareness and use of mastic asphalt and to maintain a high level of workmanship from MAC approved members. The role will also entail demonstrating that MAC Membership provides value for money, thereby helping to ensure that a skilled Mastic Asphalt labour force is maintained.
Location
Although it should be recognised that the role will involve a degree of travel, the majority of day-to-day tasks can be performed remotely from a home-based office.
Key Responsibilities
* To maintain and grow mastic asphalt’s integrity as a product and a trade within the construction industry.
* To promote mastic asphalt in existing markets whilst also exploring new market opportunities for the product.
* To ensure the mastic asphalt industry complies with current construction requirements.
* To maintain inward investment and training of skilled labour within the mastic asphalt industry; liaising with the CITB and training colleges to promote mastic asphalt apprenticeships.
* Provide technical support for both design and specification queries with assistance from the Board members.
* Provide support to the MAC Membership.
* Represent MAC on relevant external committees with assistance from the Board.
* Managing MAC finances.
Knowledge and Experience of Position Holder
* Extensive experience within the construction sector.
* Must have good IT skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, information management, video conferencing, cloud backup software and social media management.
* Must be articulate, numerate with good communication skills and an outgoing personality.
