Job title: Bank Cardiac Radiographer (Cathlab) Rate: £300 per day Hours: Please note, this is a bank contract meaning shifts will be on an adhoc basis giving you full flexibility / 8am - 5pm Location: Mobile role covering services in Hereford, Manchester, Bristol, Aberdeen - Accommodation provided Introduction: This role is aimed at an experienced Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Radiographer specialising in Cardiac services to deliver a high standard of radiography services for patients, working as part of the multi-disciplinary team in the provision and delivery of patient care. Please note this role is working on a bank contract meaning shifts will be on an adhoc basis giving you full flexibility. What you will do: You will make healthcare better for our patients by delivering a high standard of radiography service which is consistently safe and effective every day. You will contribute to the day to day management of imaging quality, radiation protection and administrative functions. You will act, at all times in accordance with the Society of Radiographers code of professional conduct. You will maintain a high level of professionalism and technical work standards in accordance with the HCPC codes of practice. What you are responsible for: Clinical Undertaking unsupervised imaging procedures in line with existing modality specific clinical guidelines and protocols (MHRA Guidance 2007, IR(ME)R 2017). Undertaking examinations in line with the patient referrals adhering to local guidelines. Using techniques that produce the lowest radiation dose to the patient and staff whilst producing high quality angiographic images. Practicing good radiation protection and Systems of Work. Performing Quality Assurance tests on x-ray equipment and taking appropriate action(s) in accordance with the IRMER17 Regulations. Providing a flexible approach for ad hoc shift cover when required, to accommodate holiday and sickness. Governance Ensuring that incidents and near misses are logged on Sentinel for escalation and that any immediate actions required are brought to the attention of Line Manager. Delivering services that meet the Care Quality Commission fundamental standards for health care. Respecting the privacy and dignity of the patients. Maintaining up to date knowledge on and adherance to corporate and local SOPs. Maintaining a clean and safe working environment. Complying with ISO standards in respect of Information Security Management. Training and Development Assisting placement students and other colleagues in the achievement of their learning outcomes. Supervising, teaching and leading student radiographers, visitors and allied staff in all aspects of Radiation Protection and Safety. Contributing to the assessment and implementation of radiographic and generic departmental competencies for new and existing staff. Sharing knowledge and clinical expertise. Taking ownership and fulfilling the requirements of any required Statutory and Mandatory training; ensuring all training courses are completed within the required timeframes. Maintaining professional competencies and CPD Health & Safety & Radiation Protection Adhering to the host Trust and InHealth Group Health and Safety Policy. Following modality specific protocols, in line with requirements for the service. Adherence to Local Radiation Rules. Contributing to the reviewing and reinforcing of all local rules regarding radiation protection with the broader team. Ensuring that all radiographic equipment is used, stored and cleaned appropriately. Ensuring that appropriate personal protective clothing and equipment is appropriate for clinical duties within the unit. Escalate any imaging or radiographic equipment faults to the Senior Radiographer or Lead Superintendent. We are looking for someone who has: The skills of an effective Radiographer who is supportive of the wider team, reliable and trustworthy A passion for patient care Sound computer literacy with accurate data entry skills and attention to detail Report and audit writing skills Use of advanced clinical skills in emergency situations A keen interest in Cardiology. You should apply if you have experience: B.Sc. (Honours) degree in Radiography or equivalent. Working in the Catheter Laboratory environment (desirable but not essential) Of BLS as a minimum with a desire to be ILS competent Using Microsoft packages and other IT systems proving competent with computer literacy skills.
