About The Role:
SMT GB is searching for a Technical Support Specialist focused on Articulated and Rigid Haulers to join our expert team. In this critical role, you will provide specialized technical support and guidance on our range of articulated and rigid hauling equipment. Your expertise will help ensure our customers receive exceptional service and experience optimal performance from their machinery.
What you will be doing:
o Manage aftermarket product quality issues and collaborate with the Product Company
o Oversee technical applications for product lines
o Disseminate information effectively to internal staff and customers.
o Ensure an efficient technical help desk is maintained.
o Assist in fault diagnosis activities.
o Compile evidence to drive quality improvements and service fixes.
o Initiate and monitor product improvement campaigns.
o Contribute to new product introductions and analysis.
o Conduct site and customer visits for technical support.
o Ensure all internal and external training needs are identified and met.
o Support Sales Support staff on technical specifications and modifications.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, And Experience:
o Experience in a similar technical role in the heavy plant industry
o Have a good knowledge of the construction industry.
o A sound understanding / working knowledge of all VCE products.
o Technical engineering background within the Construction Industry.
o Hold a recognised Apprenticeship NVQ 3 or equivalent in Construction Equipment or an Engineering based field.
o Good communication skills both verbally and in writing. Have the ability to communicate at all levels.
o Have good computer literacy.
o Be prepared to work flexible hours depending on the job requirements, including occasional nights away from home, to attend product training or other meetings inside and outside of UK.
Desirable:
* Experience in providing training and technical guidance to others.
