The Home is registered as a 49-bed residential home, offering long term Emi residential care, respite, day care and short-term stays. The home is registered to care for people on an Emi residential basis as well as for people with dementia. Our aim at Summer Fields Care Home is to provide the highest standard of care in a relaxed, friendly environment with a friendly and empathetic approach. We ensure that residents are able to still enjoy the freedom and lifestyle of their choice, whilst receiving care that is appropriate to their needs built on dignity and respect and you will play a key part in this. The main purpose of the Cooks role is to organise and control the efficient production of quality food, whilst maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in line with regulations. Food preparation will be expected to be of a very high standard and will include preparing, cooking, and serving hot and cold meals, as and when required. Duties: ensure the care home residents receive a varied, appealing, wholesome, and nutritious diet, which is suited to individually assessed needs. manage the home’s food ordering, storage, cooking, service, and disposal process in accordance with the Food Safety Act 1990 and amendments. carry out regular hazard analysis of food production areas and the food production chain. keep all records required by the Food Safety Act 1990 and the Essential Standards of Quality and Safety 2008.
