We are looking for a diligent management accountant to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with us as we continue to grow our thriving business.
As a management accountant, you will be responsible for collecting, analysing, and reporting financial information to help the company's leadership team make informed decisions, playing a key role in the company's strategic planning and growth.
Responsibilities
1. Financial reporting
2. Prepare and present internal financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.
3. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data reported to management.
4. Conduct monthly and quarterly financial reviews to assess financial performance against targets.
5. Cost variance analysis
6. Analyse costs related to operations and projects to identify cost-saving opportunities.
7. Conduct variance analysis to compare actual costs to budgeted figures and provide recommendations for cost control.
8. Support pricing strategies by analysing cost structures and profitability margins.
9. Performance Management
10. Develop, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of various business units.
11. Work with department heads to improve financial performance and achieve budgetary goals.
12. Provide financial insights to support decision-making and performance improvements.
13. Budgeting and Forecasting
14. Develop and manage annual budgets in collaboration with department heads.
15. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecasts, adjusting for changes in business conditions.
16. Monitor budget variances, providing explanations and recommendations for corrective actions.
17. Risk Management and Compliance
18. Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
19. Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal controls, and company policies.
20. Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary financial documentation and analysis.
21. Balance sheet reconciliations.
22. Management and completion of VAT returns.
23. Management and completion of the year-end audit.
Requirements
1. Qualifications such as AAT or partial AAT.
2. Experience in a similar role.
3. Proficient with accounting software, namely Xero.
4. Double entry bookkeeping.
5. Advanced IT skills, including strong experience with Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel.
6. Strong analytical abilities to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
7. High level of accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
8. Strong understanding of the business environment and how financial management supports strategic goals.
9. Confident communicator by phone and email.
10. Good time management.
11. Clean DBS check.
