An exciting and rare opportunity for an experienced Crop Manager to join our busy Farming Team. Our new Crop Production Manager will assume responsibility for dedicated crops across prime farm land situated across rural Sussex, Hampshire and The Isle of Wight.

Reporting directly to the Head of Crop Production, candidates will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, confident of liaising at all levels both internally and externally.
The Crop Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of crop production & operations, ensuring efficient and effective cultivation practices to maximize yields while maintaining our high quality standards. You will be responsible for planning, organising, and coordinating activities related to planting, growing, harvesting, and processing. The role also involves managing resources, implementing agricultural best practices, and ensuring compliance with regulations and safety standards.
Confident & highly organised, the Crop Production Manager will play a pivotal role planning and programming crops with procurement and the Head of Crop Production. Also coordinating and planning daily operations across the areas including labour and machinery management.
Requirements
Key responsibilities include but are not restricted to:
1. Preparing Crop Blueprints,
2. Weekly crop forecasts
3. Drilling & Planting trials
4. Planning daily operations & programming crops
5. Managing stock
6. Creating and monitoring of irrigation plans
7. Labour allocation and review
8. Creating and implementing appropriate machinery plans
9. Managing field margins and environmental schemes
10. Maintaining all related financial records
Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience
11. Ideally educated to degree level or industry related qualification
12. Previous experience of working in a UK based, agricultural environment - placement years will be considered
13. Highly organised and computer literate in all MS office programs
14. Proactive and flexible approach to work
15. Effective communication skills
16. Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workload
17. BASIS & FACTS would be an advantage - but not essential
